WHCC 8th Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner
Featuring Actor Edward James Olmos
February 20, 2010 5 - 9 pm
Broadview Hotel, 400 W Douglas.
Edward James Olmos, who is as well known for his work in the Latino community and for his memorable roles in Hollywood, will touch on his own experience as a Latino entrepreneur and the importance of being involved in one’s community. The US Hispanic-owned business rate in size and revenue continues to outpace that of non-Hispanics, which is mirrored by Mr. Olmos' own success as an entrepreneur.
“It is a privilege and an honor to welcome Mr. Olmos to the city of Wichita,” said Abel Perez, Executive Director, Wichita Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “We look forward to a memorable evening with him that I am sure our attendees will enjoy. On behalf of the Wichita Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, we would like to extend our deepest thanks to our friends at Farmers Insurance for their support and making Mr. Olmos’ visit possible.”
“At Farmers, we value and are committed to the emergence of Latino leaders in our communities. Becoming a Farmers agent remains one of the best small business opportunities in America for Latinos that have drive, ambition and a commitment to give back to their community,” said Luisa Acosta-Franco, Vice President, Multicultural Marketing, Farmers Insurance.
This year marks the first year that the Wichita Hispanic Chamber of Commerce honors local rising stars in the community through its Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner.
Individual tickets for the event are $75. Tickets need to be purchased by Friday, February 12, 2010.
