Tony Sines, knowledge manager for the Robert J. Dole Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wichita, will be the featured speaker for the meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Phoenix, Room 102.
He views his role as “an opportunity to ensure valuable knowledge is shared throughout the medical center to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.”
Prior to his current role, he was the medical center’s information security office. The first full-time staff member to serve in this position, he focused on establishing a culture of awareness. He developed several key information security policies, oversaw the implementation of key information security technical controls, and successfully led the facility through numerous external audits.
He previously worked as a consultant for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and served as a project manager with a large information technology consulting firm on an information security implementation project for a government client. The goal was to integrate information security policy and technology into the existing business infrastructure.
Sines also served nine years in the Air Force in Turkey, Arizona and Utah. He is an adjunct faculty member for several local universities teaching classes ranging from business systems development to project planning and implementation.
He has an MBA in technology management and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Project Management Professional.
