Leadership and Management

  • Enhance and support the work of the Board by managing, monitoring, and executing the organization’s fiduciary responsibilities to the donors and the members that the organization serves.

  • Serves as a visible public advocate for the work of the organization and its need for philanthropic support, cultivating and building external relationships, and collaborations as appropriate and necessary.

  • Guides the organization through regularly scheduled annual planning activities, leading the implementation of resulting strategic initiatives.

  • Promote procedures and practices that will ensure organizational compliance with the highest ethical standards ensuring operational accountability and adherence to the law.

  • Oversight and supervision of staff and volunteers.

 

Programs and Operations

  • Conducts ongoing assessments and review of programs.

  • Establish policies, procedures, and processes.

  • Revises as necessary, program data collection measures and techniques.

  • Ensures the availability of outcome data for all programs.

  • Analyzes program outcome data to ensure programs are meeting program objectives.

  • Drafts and updates program descriptions as needed.

 

Fundraising and Resource Management

  • Develops and oversees fundraising activities, included but not limited to identifying donors, managing fundraisers, drafting fundraising solicitation letters and grant applications.

  • Expand revenue generating and fundraising activities to support membership programs and operations.

  • Create and execute annual fundraising plan.

  • Secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and educational institutions.

  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors.

  • Research and write grants, track proposals, and write reports.

  • Oversee reports for all fundraising, data entry and gift processing.

 

Financial Management

  • Ensures adequate control and accounting of all funds through written policies and procedures.

  • Maintains sound financial practices, internal controls, and reports.

  • Works collaboratively with staff, the Board treasurer, and the Board to prepare annual budgets, monitor income/expenses, and initiates changes to operations and/or budget as appropriate.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Form 990, payroll withholding, time, and leave).

  • Establishes a standardized budget.

 

Communications

  • Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all the marketing strategies, marketing communications, public relations activities, including website, newsletter, and social media.

  • Responsible for direction, design, production, and distribution of all publications including annual report.

  • Serves as spokesperson for the organization.

Job Requirements: Essential skills, experience, and education include the following.

Preferred

Meets at least four of the following:

  • A strong history of business management, with particular experience in 501(C)6 organizations

  • Understanding of how to secure funds for 501(C)6 organization, through event coordination, grant writing, or any other avenue.

  • Building and managing an active volunteer base, and eventually paid employees.

  • Long-term vision and commitment to helping reshape the organization.

  • Spanish language fluency

  • Bachelors or higher education in a related business field of study

  • A strong local network of business, civic, and philanthropic professionals

 

 

Job Salary and Benefits: Pay and benefits include the following.

Salary

  • Base salary of $18.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on qualifications and work history.

  • Milestone and goals will be presented for both options to increase base salary over time, and/or one-time performance bonuses.

  • Paid Time Off – 2 weeks per year, after 6 months of continuous employment

  • Flexible Office Schedule – While we will expect a work week to occur Monday thru Friday between 9am to 4:30 pm, flexibility to work remote will be accommodated.
