Membership Specialist

The Wichita Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (WHCC) offers a unique opportunity to work with an organization that advocates for the economic and civic interests of the Hispanic/Latino business community. The WHCC seeks a dynamic, self-starter who will provide support of all membership, communication, event activities and administrative office functions.
Coordinating Activities

Responsible for managing and servicing existing members and recruiting new memberships

Plan, coordinate, and execute WHCC event logistics that impact the community and satisfy the WHCC members needs

Represents the WHCC at events, and functions within the community

Assist with the preparation of membership correspondence, proposal, brochures, reports, mailings and acknowledgements required to support ongoing membership activities

Provide direct support of communications activities, including support with website and social media management.

Coordinate meetings related to WHCC board meetings, WHCC committees and members
-
Assist in overall success of membership programs and success of the WHCC

Demonstrate a commitment to WHCC mission in all work produced
Administrative Activities

Handle office related tasks include answer phones, return calls, walk in visitors, respond to email requests for information, mail out information and update general information for board and volunteers

Perform reception duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner

Assist board chair in creating written communication, including but not limited to emails, letters, and press releases

Receive mail and distribute accordingly

Receive and deposit membership checks
-
Assist the board chair with daily errands including but not limited to mail delivery/pick up and banking deposits

Receive and send bills to accounting for payment and make sure the checks are mailed

Maintain a current membership file and send invoices to WHCC members
-
Prepare agendas, minutes and other information to present to the board meeting

Serve as the secretary to the board of directors and maintain meeting minutes of each meeting and provide preliminary meeting minutes to the board chair within two business days following a meeting

Organize WHCC with ordering of office supplies, and perform routine organization, maintenance and cleaning as set forth by board chair

Strong oral and written communication skills

Exceptional customer service skills with excellent follow up and follow through

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office- Word, PowerPoint, Excel required

Social media experience

Bilingual preferred Spanish/English

Proficiency and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and web design preferred
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
This is a 30-35 hour per week, non-exempt position, with salary ranging from $13-$15 per hour.
